Life is a test...

Yup, I've been missing!  My new job coming up has me preparing to be out of town for a week and arranging for family to come stay at my house with my son, etc., etc., etc. Seriously, lots to do!

So this card I'm posting is actually fitting for my frame of mind...

I re-posted this card for Amy's Flashback Friday Challenge:  

'your first paper pieced card'.  

I 'paper-pieced' the television screen and this card is the furthest back that I found with paper-piecing

...this card was posted at SCS HERE on November 1, 2007! 

It was for a Chalk it Up Challenge: I used the technique "crinkled chalk", by using cellophane wrap and crinkling it, then inking it with the chalk to get that background.

Happy Friends with Flair Friday~

It's Unity Friends with Flair Friday...yippee!

Doesn't gingham make you happy? I love this red gingham ribbon paired with one of the new releases from {ippity}: Raining Happy!  This stamp set was released yesterday...isn't it darling!

This stamp set reflects how I feel right now...my stamping has been sporadic and was put on hold a little, as I have been totally concentrating on getting a better job.  Searching, applying online (everything is online now), networking, etc...that's a job in itself, and I know my commenting on fellow crafters blogs was lacking!  

Well, guess what? I was just offered a fantastic job, and I have a huge sigh of relief...woohoo!  I start this new job soon...I am so excited! 

So, YES, you bet 'it's raining happy' in my home!  

I love these ribbons...from Really Reasonable Ribbon...look at the patchwork on the Checkerboard Satin lemon yellow ribbon.  I'm searching and getting info on a light box...a fellow crafter just got one and gave a rave review.  I need better pictures and as you can see by the Stickles that I used on the umbrella....I'm not too fond of the picture.

Here's a close-up for detail that you can't see from the first picture.  I actually stamped in Craft White Ink, our {ippity} A Bit of Burlap stamp, for the background.  I actually wanted a 'texture' of some sort and I think this looks awesome, especially when you see it in person.

I created this card from the current sketch at Chick Challenges.

Okay, so I don't know if you've noticed, but I loooove little tags and mini kraft bags and have used them on past creations.  I needed a birthday card for a gift, so I decided to make a birthday greeting out of three tags.

Yea, these kinda look similar to another tag set that I created HERE , 

but as I mentioned....I loooove mini tags!

I decided to stick with the basic theme of love by using hearts...

I made a heart box,

with hearts all over it:

 

I stamped various {ippity} hearts (from the following sets: House a Home, Devoted, Life's Little Moments) all over white cardstock and cut and folded it into a heart box (MS template). Did a little ink sponging, added some red ribbons, white tulle, and red pipe cleaners, along with my cut out stamped rainbow hearts and sentiment from one of our latest 

{ippity} itty bitty's: Friendship Rainbow.

  

I colored the rainbow and hearts with my Copic Markers.

I also entered this into the: 

Cutting & Trimming Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I used my handy dandy little Stampin' Up Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the hearts, rainbows and the space in between the two rainbows. I've had these scissors for 8 years and they have never had to be sharpened to cut into small spaces!
