Unity September Sketch Challenge

Did you see?
There is lots of inspiration from all of the Unity 'Friends' today, so make sure you check out the list of hoppers at the Unity Blog!  And don't forget to check out today's special stamp set deal and 33% off sale from Unity!

I used an older Unity Kit of the Month: {Simply Magical} from November of 2009 to create this card:
I decided to use some vellum paper for the top layer with the stamped image...don't you just love that image?!!!

I'm just making this under the wire, as it's the last day of the Unity September Sketch Challenge.
Here's the sketch:

Thanks for coming by today! I hope your day is filled with 'magical things'!

A Carousel of Friends

It's Friday and you know what that means, right?
It's Friends with Flair Friday at Unity!
Many talented ladies are hopping today and to find the entire list, go visit the Unity hop HERE. You may want to also take a look at the terrific deal for today!

Also, how about a great challenge to be inspired by...
Ribbon Carousel has a challenge to use 'fabric' on your creation,
so I'm joining in there too!

I'm still playing with my new {ippity} Gingham Christmas Greetings stamp set that was released earlier this month and I love the plaid trees and sentiment, don't you?  I decorated a tin and I'm debating on what to put on the inside...maybe a small scrapbook, or a gift for someone...what do you think?

I dug through my stash and found a piece of green fabric that is cut out with the SU Bigz Top Note Die (I think I received it in a swap a long time ago).  I made the flower out of my Spellbinders Kaleidoscope die and really wanted to keep it simple.  Of course,I had to add some bling using my Imaginisce i-rock tool (love it!) and that's the bling on the tree. The bling on the flower is from SU.

The bottom of the tin is decorated too, and I think I may wrap some thin ribbon around the sides.  It's a pretty thin tin and I didn't have any thin ribbon that I like, so I'm on a search.

Don't forget to stop by Ribbon Carousel to join in on the fabric challenge, it ends on Monday:

Flashback Friday Fun and Bug Cover~

Do you ever look at some of your past creations?
Have you been to the Flashback Friday Challenge blog?
Amy has such a fun blog, and the challenges are to 're-post' one of your first creations based on a theme that is chosen by her guest.

Go check it out here:
Flashback Friday Challenges

And...

if you looooooooove {ippity}, I am also sponsoring the Flashback Friday Challenge for this month of September!

Do you want your chance to win this {ippity} set?
 ...well, go link up your new post with your old creation!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you have a Cuttlebug?
Does it get dusty?
Well I do and mine gets a little dusty.
Take a look at this:
My friend "Jen" made this bug cover for me...isn't it the cutest?!!
Those owls are hootin' cuties!
She custom made this cover to match my craft room in color.
I love it Jen!
If you want one of your own...go visit Jen's blog at
tell her I sent you! *smile*
She even has a tutorial on how she made it...but since I haven't used my sewing machine for some time now (darn bobbin thread winding stuff), I asked her to make me one and it was a reasonable price.
Oh, and here's a picture just to show that it is my Cuttlebug underneath:
{ippity} Monday!
It's a Wee {ippity} Moxie Monday!
I created this card with my {ippity} set 'Fall for You':
Recipe: Copics, SU c/s, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Linen thread
There is a challenge at Wee Memories this week, for 'no pattern paper'.  So I used my corner stamps from my {ippity} set 'Fall for You' that had those designs on them, so there is no pattern paper on my card at all.
Also, I'm sponsoring this week's challenge at Wee Memories...go take a visit
I'd love to see your creations with no pattern paper!
~click on the badge and it will take you to the challenge~
And I'm entering this in the Moxie Fab World 'Vertical Sketch' Challenge...
There are two prizes to be given away...YOU could be one by commenting on the entries!
Don't you just love this new {ippity} set: All Things are Possible?!!
I played with this set this morning...
Recipe: SU Pretty in Pink and Pixie PInk c/s; SU Pretty in Pink Ink and Memento Noir Ink; Misc dsp; Imaginisce i-rock tool and bling; SU Ribbon, Spellbinders dies
I created this card for the Wee Memories Challenge #66 "Simply Sentiments":
Go join in on the fun for a chance at a $20 GC to ilove it all:
CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO TAKE YOU TO THE CHALLENGE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, I wanted to share a tip about cutting out images...now I am by no means perfect at cutting out images.  I often see that I didn't cut along the edges as close to the ink, like this image on the left.  To 'clean up' the edges a bit, I use a black marker and just ink around the edges, as you can see on the right image:

My cut out image looks neater along the edges when it's all put together,
as you can see by my layered butterfly... layering also gives some awesome dimension:

Let me know if you need some {ippity}....I'd be glad to help you with an order!
Click on my badge to take you to my {ippity} shop!

Thanks for visiting me and I hope you have a lovely day!~

And guess what?
I am sponsoring this month's challenge...woohoo!
If you want to see the {ippity} set that is up for grabs
then you've got to go check out her blog
...yup, I'm not telling you which set,
...but I will tell you that "it's all about Life"! hint, hint

I loooove the concept that Amy created and she has guests who give us the new challenge.
The fabulous guest designer 'Els' has challenged us to find our
'first Fall card'!
WOW, you must take a look at her creations...
I'm loving the mini book she made and her LO's are gorgeous...
really, you must go visit Els:
Be{e} Stamped
http://bestamped.wordpress.com/

So my questions for this challenge:
....oh my, what will my creation look like?
how long ago did I make it?
what supplies did I use?
how did I photograph it?
should I be embarrassed or not?
hahaha, isn't it fun just thinking about these questions?

So....here is mine:

I found this one in my SCS gallery dated September 10, 2008,
so it looks like this is the first one that I posted....
This is all Stampin' Up! supplies using watercolor paper and watercolor crayons...not sure that I like the way I colored...ha!

So don't forget, go check out Flashback Friday!
Thanks so much Amy for allowing me to sponsor this months challenge!
