Growing in Unity Friday and FwF!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for joining me in my Growing in Unity week!  What a blast it was...and today is my last day! I loooove creating with my Unity and {ippity} stamps! *smile*

Today is also Unity's Friends with Flair...so there is lots of sharing going on!  Yay Unity!

Growing in Unity details:
From all the comments that I have received on my posts starting on Sunday HERE through TODAY, I will number them all and then pick a number via Random.org.  The lucky comment will be posted on Sunday, January 22nd.  The winner gets to pick any TWO ITTY BITTY'S from the Unity Stamp Co website, courtesy of Unity Stamp Co! Woohoo!

Today's pictures are definitely not the best, but have you ever tried to photograph 'metal'?  Oh my gosh, it is the toughest thing ever! I made these little door hangers for the Unity KOM Challenge, using the Feb 2010 KOM 'Nothing but Blue Skies:
I used Blazing Red StazOn to stamp on this 'non-shiny' metal and then hand debossed it, while puffing out the hearts and clouds...it really looks much better in person! The base is cardboard with some yummy Little Yellow Bicycle Papers and misc ribbons.

Here's another view which doesn't reflect as much shine:

You have until February 1st to play with a chance to win 'ANY Kit of the Month of their choice for FREE plus 100 randomly chosen Unity Stamp Company stamps'!
Here's the sketch:

Here's another door hanger using a 'shiny' mirror type metal with same stamps and Red StazOn. I used the same sketch, but flipped it upside down:
The 'mirror' was also tough to photo and it looks dark here, but it really does look like a shiny mirror.

Here's another view without the reflection:

Note to self...find some photography tips for metals! LOL
And if anyone has some hints for me, please share!

Isn't it great that you can now order Unity Stamps along with your {ippity} stamps, on the Unity website!  I am a Unity Endorsed {ippity} chick, and if you feel I have earned your business, please click on my name and photo at the Unity website when placing your order (thank you so much)!

Don't forget about Angela's birthday sale...tomorrow, Saturday, is the last day!  Use ANG39 on your checkout at Unity Stamp Co and receive 39% off of your order on the Unity website (for {ippity} stamps too)!!! Please make sure to wish Angela a very happy birthday, as she certainly has made our days happy too!

Well, it truly has been a pleasure having you share my Growing in Unity week with me! Your comments and messages have really made me smile, thank you!
Come back on Sunday to find out who the winner is!

I leave you with the sentiment from my projects:
"May happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through".

Growing in Unity Thursday!

I'm having so much fun creating projects for my Growing in Unity week...I hope you like them!

YOU could win 2 Itty Bitty's of your choice, by commenting on my "Growing in Unity" posts! My first GIU post was on Sunday, click HERE. The last day of my GIU is tomorrow, Friday, and I will pick a random winner this weekend...so don't miss out on the random drawing!

Clean and Simple...
have you ever made a popsicle card?

Today's share, I'm going with 'Clean and Simple' and back to 2009.
I used the Unity stamp set "Mix Up of Cuteness"
(you can buy this set for 39% off with Angela's sale! Go check it out by clicking on the stamp set name...sooo many cute images!)

This card opens up, where the red bow is keeping it closed. I just paper pieced the cherries and stamped the sentiment, and then used punches for the circles and 'bite mark'..simple as can be (and I still think it's a cute card!).

I'm participating in the Flashback Friday challenge...which is why I went back to 2009...to find my 'first' clean and simple card (hopefully it qualifies)!

You have until January 27th to play in this challenge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now don't forget about the a.m.a.z.i.n.g. sale that Unity Stamp Co has going on right now...
Angela turned 39, so you get....39% off!
Growing in Unity Wednesday!~
It's a Wonderful Wednesday with Growing in Unity!
Don't forget about the a.m.a.z.i.n.g. sale that Unity Stamp Co has going on right now...
Angela turned 39, so you get....39% off!
ANG39 is the code!
and it's going on till this coming Saturday!
Woohoo, thank you Unity and Angela!
I can't believe that we are half way through this week already!
Where does the time fly?
Speaking of flying, I have a couple of owls to show you today.
Be warned....lots of pictures below!
This little owl is our itty bitty {ippity} "Wise Guy".
Doesn't he look like a wise guy with those glazed-over eyes?
These projects are both 'matchbooks' that I made, and I paper pieced the owls.  The brown one on the left is a jotter memo pad with tear off sheets; the blue one on the right is a gift card holder (inside photo's below).
Here's a close-up of the jotter note pad using Spellbinders Labels Four, SU papers, cardstock, ribbon, button and twine.
You can see that I popped up the owl and pieces for some dimension.  I also flipped the matchbook so that you tuck in the flap at the top (under the twine):
Inside view here using Unity "Owl Journal Box".
I inserted about 12 pages with this stamped on every page...such a ca-ute stamp!
Check this out...I perforated each page so that I could tear them out of the jotter...see those perforated lines? I made them with my SU Cutter Kit (perforate, cut, score, or distress your paper), which I've had for such a long time. Then I punched holes and tied them with twine under the flap.
Lookie at those cute owls!!
Heres is a close-up of the gift card holder using Spellbinders Labels Four, SU papers and cardstock; misc seam binding; TH mini stapler; Imaginisce i-rock tool and pearls.
In this picture you can see that the owl is popped up also and the flap tucks in nicely, just like a matchbook.
Inside view of the gift card holder...you can slip the gift card right under the ribbon and it doesn't move. Since the idea of this is a matchbook, I doubled the c/s, cut 5 slits (to fit one word each of the sentiment) and glued the words on those slits; then added a little doodling; do they look like matches?  You can also write something on these strips, or on the space in back of the gift card...use your imagination.
So this is the last picture of the inside of both projects.
The jotter book is approximately 4 1/2" x 3 3/4",
and the gift card holder is approximately 3 1/2" x 3"...
I just cut out the sizes to what I wanted them to be.
Okay, I know, I had too many pictures today! I just had to show you the details! *smile*
YOU could win 2 Itty Bitty's of your choice, by commenting on my Growing in Unity posts! I will pick a random winner this weekend, so don't miss out to be put into the drawing!
And if you NEED some {ippity}, I would love to be YOUR {ippity} chick
All you need to do is click on my picture
Growing in Unity Tuesday~
Oh my gosh, if you have been hiding this week and you haven't realized that Unity Stamp Co has not only the most a.m.a.z.i.n.g. rubber stamps ever, but the most a.m.a.z.i.n.g. SALE going on now!
Hurry, go here to the Unity website!
It's Angela's birthday all week long and you don't want to miss out on this event...39% off!
Use code ANG39 at checkout!
When you visit Unity, don't forget to tell Angela Happy Birthday too!
I just loooove gift bags, don't you?
For my Growing in Unity share today I created a gift bag for Valentine's Day!
These bees are also in the Unity July 2011 KOM.
I felt that these bees needed some sparkle so I added some Fruit Punch Stickles dots along the Spellbinder Labels 4 frame and the top and bottom of the bag.  Isn't that Pink Corsage Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon divine? I love how pretty and sparkly it is.
See, aren't these bees so cute?
YOU could win 2 Itty Bitty's of your choice, by commenting on my Growing in Unity posts! I will pick a random winner this weekend, so don't miss out to be put into the drawing!
I used the sketch over at Chick Challenges:
You can play too, but hurry, this sketch challenge ends Wednesday at midnight:
Chick Challenge Sketch #13.
And I am entering this into the Really Reasonable 'Valentine's Day' Challenge which must include some ribbon, lace or trim somewhere on your project.
I Love RRR
You have until January 29th at midnight to play!
And if you NEED some {ippity}, I would love to be YOUR {ippity} chick
All you need to do is click on my picture
when placing your order on the Unity website!
I can already see that
Growing in Unity Monday~
Happy Happy Monday!
I'm back with another Growing in Unity card today, showcasing one of our
Make sure you see yesterday's post, as I actually started Growing in Unity yesterday!
Do you have any of those baseball card protectors? Well, I used one of those sheets and cut out two of the card slots to create this card base.
Here's the info: I inserted chocolate cardstock with polka dot paper, cut with a Spellbinders Label 4 die and a little tie of embroidery thread for the background to be placed inside the pocket.  I colored the cupcakes with Copics, and cut out them out to embellish the outside (now it's really tricky when trying to photograph the baseball card protectors due to the glare, so I'm sorry, I could not eliminate the glare totally):
Here is the inside of the card, again placing chocolate polka dot cardstock over blue cardstock inside the card slot. Then embellishing the outside using the Spellbinders die Labels 4 with the sentiment, and colored,   cut out and popped up one little cupcake and some pretty flower ribbon:
Here's a close up of the cupcakes and you can see them popped up at various heights:
You need to use a bone folder to crease the card holder in order for it to stay folded.  But it really makes such an easy card base, and you can easily switch it around for different looks.
I will not take credit for using the baseball card holder, as I have seen it used as scrap book pages in many different places, i.e., Debby Schuh classes.
But I thought...why not use it as a card base?  So what do you think?
I created this card based on the challenge over at Ribbon Carousel and was inspired by the cupcake and it's colors:
You have until Monday at midnight to enter this challenge.
Also, don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the Growing in Unity drawing...
you could win 2 Itty Bitty's of your choice!  More details on yesterday's post below.
And if you NEED some {ippity}, I would love to be YOUR {ippity} chick! All you need to do is click on my picture when placing your order on the Unity website!
Thank you so much for coming by today!
I hope your day is filled with Unity and {ippity} goodness!
My Growing in Unity Week!
Hello and Happy Sunday!
This is MY week for Unity's "Growing in Unity" and I'm starting today!  Unity Stamp Co allows Unity's fans to host a week of Unity and {ippity} creations and give away a Unity prize...isn't that fantastic?
It's usually Monday through Friday, but I'm starting a little early, 'cause I know this week will breeze by...so is that okay with you?
My share today is a card that I made with {ippity} stamps.
First, with one of {ippity's} newest quote stamps:
an itty bitty "Happy are those", by Unity Artista Jenny Suchin
Second, with the scallop stamp from "Party Hat Wishes":
I created the clouds on the background, by stamping the quote on c/s and then cut out the cloud image and used it as a stencil to ink up, with my TH Antique Linen Distress Ink...so what do you think?
I created this card for two challenges:
Wee Memories 'Final' Challenge #83, which is this sketch above (you have till Jan 20th to participate in Jenny's last challenge...let's make her last challenge awesome!);
and
The Color Throwdown Challenge #174, to use these colors above (you have till Jan 16th at midnight to participate in this challenge!).
So here's how Growing in Unity works:
  • I will post a Unity and/or {ippity} creation every day this week, with Friday being the last day.
  • From all the comments on my posts through Friday, I will pick one random winner through Random.org.
  • On Sunday, I will post the winner and the winner gets to choose ANY 'TWO' ITTY BITTY'S from the Unity website!
  • Woohoo!  Isn't Unity the greatest?
I'm so excited to be hosting Growing in Unity this week and I hope I have not left out any details that I needed to post!  However, if I did, I will inform you in other posts this week!
Thank you so much for joining me on this fun ride this week!
Don't forget that you can now order your {ippity} on the Unity website, and I am a Unity Endorsed {ippity} chick! If you feel I have earned your business, then please click on my photo at the Unity website when placing your order!
And please don't forget about Angela's birthday sale...use ANG39 on your checkout at Unity Stamp Co and receive 39% off of your order on the Unity website (see post below)!!! Oh my gosh, isn't she fantastic for doing this?!!!
Have a fabulous {ippity} day!
