Celebrate with Whimsy Wednesday!

Hi everyone!  It's the Design Team hop for Whimsy Haven this fantabulous Wednesday!
Don't forget to visit Whimsy Haven to see the $1 special purchase for today and an announcement!

You should be arriving here from
Stephanie M over at
Handmade Creations by Stephanie
..which I am sure you all were amazed with her creativity!

Are you ready for the 4th of July?  I've been having some fun making little things to put on tables for a party.

I'm sharing a little basket that I made with my Stampin' Up Baskets and Blooms die.  I used the Star Cakethe 'celebrate' sentiment and I cut more stars out from the cake to place on my little flags (and used LOTS of Stickles for sparkly shine)...all from the Whimsy Haven Birthday Star Digital set!

This is also for Jenny C's challenge to use Red, White and Blue (WMC12) over at Wee Memories!
Make your purchase for this set today, so you can create little baskets and have them for this weekend too!

Your next next stop on the hop is the remarkable

I want to give a shout-out to Stephanie Zito!  Stephanie has been our Guest Designer for June and her work is so inspiring!  Hey Steph!

Thank you so so much for spending your Wednesday with us at Whimsy Haven!
p.s. sorry if your eyes are going all crazy with the colors, but can you tell that I am in to Red, White and Blue this week? *smile*

Happy {ippity} 4th!

Well okay, it's not quite yet the 4th of July, but almost!

I was playing with some of my {ippity} stamps and started making them into little flags on candy sticks. So I just knew that I had to put them in little containers and put them on one of my empty shelves...then I thought, 'hey, I remember Diana from Scor-Pal had made a cute Star Box'!

And guess what?...yup, I found Diana's tutorial for her Star Box over on SCS...so convenient, huh?
From Unity and {ippity} Projects
Here's the underside of the boxes to show the Star shapes...aren't they cute?

Stamps: {ippity} A Little Buggy, A Moment in Time, Fall for You

This post is kinda short, 'cause as I was inserting my pic's, I wiped out my entire post...ack!!!  Have you ever done that?...I hate when that happens!

I hope you had a great time today, and thank you for stopping by!  I think I'm the last one on the hop, so have a FANTASTIC {ippity} day!

H{ippity} Hop Blossom for you and Play Date Cafe~

Hello {ippity} peeps! If you want to see all the {ippity} goodness, make sure to see the list of hoppers at the {ippity}blog!

I'm sharing a card that I made for Lisa's {ippity} challenge, IHHC28....to create a a single layer card with NO bows, pop dots, or layers. So to add some dimension I used my craft knife to pop out the petals (no pop dots), and sponged the french blue chalk ink around the white embossed blossom.  Then I hand embossed a circle around the blossom (hmmm...I think I need a nestie or something).
From Unity and {ippity} Projects

I also made this for Julie's color challenge at the Play Date Cafe, PDCC #34...black, white and splash of blue!

Stamps used: {ippity} Now and Always
Ink: Colorbox French Blue Chalk, Palette Noir
Accessories:  NONE, but used craft knife to pop out the petals!

Thank you so much for hopping by...I'm on my way to hop to everyone's blogs too...have fun!

p.s.  If you want to order some {ippity}, send me an email at jenstampin4u at aol dot com...I'd be glad to take your order and send you some surprise goodies too! *smile*

Tim and Melody together...

Okay, now just because I put that title don't be spreading any rumor's about Tim Holtz and Melody Ross..heehee!  I put that title because it's Friends with Flair Friday,  and I used products from both of these talented artists today!

Now, if you didn't start at the Unity Stamp Co blog...STOP, please go back and don't miss the creative spark of all these gorgeous Unity fans!  And, one of these gorgeous ladies has THE "blinkie" that could win you a bunch of some yummy Unity red rubbah!

So, for my card I had a few challenges in mind, including the latest Unity Hip Hop sketch challenge.

I was so excited to use my new Unity--Melody Ross "Brave Girl" set...LOVE IT!and as I was playing around today, I embossed a brown paper bag with one of Tim's new embossing folders called Patchwork AND the top edge is from one of his new Alterations dies "On the Edge"...LOVE THEM!

I lightly sponged my blue ink to make the embossing pop a little, while faux stitching with my white gel pen to match the double stitched ribbon.

I used my circle punch on the front of the card, so I could pop up some birdies that are actually inside of the card.  If you read this far...sorry for being too much of a chatty Cathy!

My other challenges are:

Color Throwdown #97 (I used all three colors)
Caardvarks June Challenge to use wet and/or dry embossing (my Tim Holtz embossing folder)
Wee Memories Challenge #10--In Stitches (my faux stitching)

I appreciate that you took the time to come by today...

It's Whimsy Butterfly~

Happy Whimsy Wednesday!  Did you see the special $1 set that Lindsay posted at
If you are on the hop, you should have arrived from the fabulousness of

Now, I love this gorgeous butterfly that Lindsay created and when I saw the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this.

I printed the butterfly on vellum cardstock and colored the back of it with my Copics.  Then I cut it out and popped it up a bit with strips of Tim Holtz "Lost and Found" Paper Stash behind it (I first tried some of this fantastic paper on my Tim Holtz Artful Curio on Saturday's post here and I LOVE IT!), tied some grosgrain ribbon and added the SU Designer Label Punch with the sentiment...what do you think?:
From Whimsy Haven
Whimsy Haven Digital Butterfly and Sentiment
C/S: Tim Holtz Paper Stash: Lost and Found, SU Baja Breeze, Neenah Solar White
COPICS: Y17, Y26, Y28, R02, R20, B00, B21, B24, G07, G09, G21, G24
Accessories: SU Designer Label Punch, Baja Breeze White Grosgrain Ribbon

My Tuesday Trigger inspiration was from the colors, the stripes and the bars of these popsicles:
I'm also entering this into the Wee Memories 'Punch It' challenge, WMC6, to use 'punches' (I used the Designer Label Punch).

Now fly away to your next stop at
Jenny's Wee Memories ...lots of yummy-ness!

Two posts...H{ippity} Hop Monday and Studio 313

H{ippity} Hop Monday is here! To see all the blogs participating today, go to the {ippity} site here.

Kelly posted an {ippity} challenge ~ IHHC26 - to create a card for the Operation Write Home organization. If you have a chance visit their blog and see what it's all about...absolutely astonishing number of cards that they receive! The OWH blog also posted a sketch challenge, and here is my card that I created for both using {ippity} Moon Beams and Heartstrings:
From Unity and {ippity} Projects
Here is the OWH sketch:

At Studio 313, Shawne created this cutie patootie angel baby, so I had to create this card.  This is really out of my comfort zone, and I just started putting this lace around the image and here is the end result...isn't she darling?!:

My Artful Curio and Tim Holtz

A few week's ago, I went to one of my favorite LSS's the Frenzy Stamper blog and noticed that they posted a Tim Holtz class, but it had sold out immediately!  So on Debbie's blog post (the owner of Frenzy Stamper), I told her how exciting to have that class there, and I was sorry that I missed it.  Well guess what?  A few days later she emailed me...yea, Debbie emailed me from my post on her blog, and said that Tim was adding a second class on Sunday...and her store is not even open on Sunday's!  (Isn't this like the best customer service ever?!!!)  So, I jumped at the chance and called her immediately, and guess what...yay, I was in!

So this past Sunday was the day for Tim's class...MY first one ever with Tim!  And boy, was it fun!!!  He really is a sweet guy and the way he teaches is so fun and not intimidating at all!  He brought all kinds of trinkets and goodies, oh my, it was breathtaking!!!  Look at Tim's post here and just imagine having all these goodies at your fingertips!  BTW, I am in the 5th photo...on the left side in the Tim Holtz apron that I received when I ordered my signed copy of his Compendium of Curiosities book...heehee.
From Miscellaneous Items
Okay, so here is my artful curio that I made.  We sorta decoupaged the entire curio with vintage journal papers, Tim's paper line, dictionary paper, HIS NEW TAPES, and all kinds of goodies that he brought for us.  We inked, we spritzed, we sprayed, we sanded, we distressed, we glued, we used his hardware pieces, we did everything!
The outside with all the hardware:

The items inside my curio are not random...the numbers and items have some kind of meaning from my son to my parents and family. It was SO fun to do whatever we wanted to our curio!

Open...

Thanks so much for such an awesome class Tim, and Debbie, thanks so much for such a FABulous party place and having such an awesome store with LOTS of goodies...SPECTACULAR!

a peachy Friday ~

Hi there! I know you have lots of Unity to see, so this is a quick post for Unity Friends with Flair Friday.  If you want to start at the beginning of the hop go to the Unity site here.

Have you had one of those days, when the card you imagine is just not happening when you put it together?  Well, this card is one of those cards, but I'm posting it anyway 'cause I learn from these...ha!
From Unity and {ippity} Projects
Stamps: Unity May KOM...a little happy
I made this card for two challenges:

Unity HHSC10 and Play Date CafeChallenge32

As I was trying to find colors close to these...I just didn't have any, so my colors were the closest I could come to Lemon, Pale Peach and Peach.

Thank YOU so much for coming by...I hope YOU have a FABulous weekend!

Dad's Truck

Have you see TODAY'S $1 stamp at Whimsy Haven, yet?  Isn't this beautiful?!!!:
If you are following the Whimsy Haven DT Hop, then you should have just come from Amy T's blog, right? If you want to start at the beginning, then take a hop over to the Whimsy Haven site...lots of fun inspiration!
And a quick welcome to our June Guest Designer, Stephanie Zito...woohoo!

This old truck is one of Lindsay's Father's Day sets...isn't it FAB?!  Also Really Reasonable Ribbon has their very first challenge to create a masculine project with ribbon (of course)..so here's my take of dad's old rusty truck.  I printed the word 'Dad' many times 'cause it reminded me of when I said "Dad, Dad, Dad...", and I 'staircased' the ribbon on the left side of the truck, and it needed some grass so I used my Copics for that too:
From Whimsy Haven
Stamps: WHIMSY HAVEN's Father's Day Truck Set
C/S: SU Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow, GP White
Ink: COPICS-B00, B21, B24, G07, G21, G24, YG13, R02, Y11, C1
Accessories: Misc Ribbon, button, blue twine

Now you have reached the end of the Whimsy Haven Designer Team blogs, so make sure to visit
for all those fabulous images and sets that Lindsay is creating and especially for today's $1 special!
Thanks so much for visiting us this week, and have a Whimsy of a day!
